Enjoy the warmth of the wonderful wineries along the Lake Michigan Shore Wine Trail. Even during these snowy, colder months the wineries are waiting for you to come taste some of their new releases and your favorites as well as enjoy the comfort and pleasant surroundings. You can come for the day or make a weekend of it. We are close enough that you can enjoy a day visiting some of the wineries and make it home at a reasonable time. If you stay the weekend, shop the quaint towns that dot the wine trail along the lake shore and the BnBs, inns and hotels. Making it memorable, and come back again, soon.
12 Corners – Valentine’s weekend will be filled with jazz and wine. Join Erick Fischer 2-5pm on Saturday February 17th. Whether you are traveling along I-196 or I-94 you can’t miss or help stopping by. You can see a portion of the beautiful estate vineyards beckoning you to taste the wines produced from those grapes.
Cogdal – this weekend – February 10-11 are offering 2 for 1 tastings and a special sweet treat. New offering is “The Board”. It includes crackers, meat, cheese, dried cherries, cashews and chocolate. You will want to stop by and check it out.
Contessa Winery – when you visit the winery be sure and stop by and pick up some chocolates to accompany your wine tasting experience. Contessa is located between two chocolatiers. Vineyards Chocolates that offers a generous variety of chocolates and then a short distance away is the Chocolate Garden where their specialty are truffles. Perfection.
Dablon Winery – for the month of Love, February, come taste 4 wines paired with 4 flavors of French Macarons that are made by Mindy over at Inn at Harbor Shores. You don’t want to miss this! This offer is available during tasting room hours. Comfy couches to sit and nestle up by the fireplace.
Lake Michigan Vintners – During the month of February celebrate Valentine’s Day with gourmet chocolates and wine pairings. Check out the website for more information and menu.
Stop in downtown Baroda to share a sweet treat and wines produced by the students of Lake Michigan College.
Lawton Ridge – take your favorite Valentine for Crepes by the Lakes and pair them up with either a glass or bottle of wine. All on the 14th. If you can’t make it on the 14th you have another opportunity on the 28th. Don’t forget to that wines from Lawton Ridge Winery will be presented at the Feed the World Café on the 20th. A romantic setting and evening of candlelight. A 5-course dinner with wine pairing suggestions. There is limited seating and music performed by Ed Skjordal. Dancing too. Saturday, the 17th 6-9pm – Be sure to get your tickets early.
Don’t forget to get you tickets for the Lake Michigan Shore Wine Festival. We are moving the event to Warren Dunes State Park. More room, more wines to taste all in one location, food trucks, live music all nestled between the dunes and Lake Michigan. You can park next to the festival. You can buy online or while you visit the wineries here along the Wine Trail.
